WE in Batley and Birstall missed out because for the last two weeks, the Dewsbury Reporter has been a special edition.
The issue for April 11 carried a hard-hitting editorial by Margaret Watson, hitting back at the way the tabloid press have sensationalised the Shannon Matthews case of the 'missing child' and took the opportunity to rubbish the town to the four corners of the world.
The editorial by Margaret Watson shows what can happen to your town if someone tries to manipulate the media and the press decide to run it to give it a sensational angle.
Last week's issue also carried an article and photograph of the Reporter's founder Joseph Woodland, continuing to reveal what life was like in Dewsbury in and before the issue of the Reporter first published August 31, 1858.
If you are interested in local history, you must acquire a copy of this fascinating story, and the paper's pledge to help the population.
