REGARDING Yorkshire Water's proposal to build an access road from the Bretton Street Industrial Development site to the Mitchell Laithes Water treatment works, with a bridge across the River Calder, this would be to alleviate the congestion caused by the heavy lorries presently passing through Earlsheaton.
One would imagine that it is an ideal opportunity for a pedestrian and cycleway to be included across the river, as a means of connecting the Spen Valley Greenway to the tracks in North Kirklees and beyond.
