IN response to letters in the Reporter (June 20 and June 27). The stall lights at Dewsbury Market are on timers.
The stalls are grouped together in rows and neither stalls nor rows are switched individually. This means that if a small number of stalls are used on Fridays it is likely that some which are not in use may be switched on.
We are aware that this does not help cut carbon emissions and are working to resolve the problem by designing a new system of switching which will be fitted in the next refurbishment of stalls which will take place next year.
