I WAS delighted to read the letter about Margaret Watson (Reporter letters, May 2).
I was determined to write such a letter myself.
When I saw her being interviewed on TV during the Shannon Matthews disappearance I decided I would do it.
Her column is a delight to read. She researches the people and events she is featuring, and as an senior reader, reminds us of times we had forgotten about.
One article featured a photograph which showed an older sister of mine being held by neighbours of our parents when she was three years old – before I was born.
Margaret is the face of Dewsbury and I too am proud to have been born here and – except for a few years away in a marriage – have lived here all my life.
I couldn't wait to get back.
