ON behalf of the Shaw Cross Tenants and Residents' Committee I want to thank all the volunteers that helped throughout the recent gas supply problems.
In particular I would like to thank all the younger people who worked so tirelessly delivering leaflets and heaters and generally caring and helping the old and vulnerable. This incident, although very unfortunate, did bring people together in a way that Shaw Cross has not really seen before. Over the week a real sense of community and neighbourliness developed.
I hope that we can continue to work together and build on the relationships that were formed across the age groups, to the benefit of everyone in Shaw Cross.
May the spirit that was born and so much in evidence during the recent crisis long continue! I would also like to thank ASDA for their very generous and much appreciated offer of help.
