Apparently no one else can have a different opinion from you.
I am Dewsbury born and bred and have lived in the town for almost 60 years. I pay my taxes and council taxes.
If you think loud music and yobbish behaviour is the norm then that's your perogative but don't expect trade to flourish and shoppers to come flocking back to Dewsbury in droves.
I have lost count of the number of people who say they only come to town when they absolutely must. All cite loud music and yobbish behaviour as the reason.
I have visited Leeds and Huddersfield in recent weeks and loud music and yobbish behaviour are not the norm there. Both have a highly visible police presence and there is certainly not a procession of cars continuously driving around playing loud music.
As for Bradford Road, what will that bring to the town? It's just another out-of-town shopping development. Shoppers visiting Redbrick Mill don't then visit Dewsbury town centre as well.
The Bishop thinks the architecture is wonderful. I agree, but it would be a lot better if we had some decent shops in these buildings to compliment it.
As for our hard working councillors, remember when they were queuing up to get Dewsbury on its feet again? Pictures in the local press taken outside the old Cooperative Funeral Parlour, action will be taken against landlords who let their property just rot. We are still waiting.
I am so pleased that bus driver Tony Foster is made very welcome in neighbouring towns and I do hope it will not be long before he, and his passengers, are made welcome in Dewsbury.
Well, I could go on but what would be the point? Obviously Trish has it all in hand.
Just a couple of positives before I close. Well done Thompsons Travel for clearing the vegetation from your gutters, you never know some of the banks and other shops may follow.
Also a big thank you to the police for their crackdown on the noisy cars - 'the problem we have not got'. The last complaint I made about it, I was told I must ask them myself to turn it down.
