I WOULD like to let readers know that Dewsbury Means Business, which was founded 50 years ago to help the town, has been re-established. I am the chairman and run the group along with vice-chairwoman Margaret Watson and secretary Andrew Hutchinson.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank one of the founding members and former secretary Lindsay Johnson for the sterling work he did for this group and as a member of the Chamber of Trade in promoting Dewsbury. Mr Johnson has recently stepped down.
Special mention must go to the work he did along with Dewsbury Fire Service to make sure the town had Christmas lights because without their help and knowledge the town would have been without lights for many years.
Many organisations in Dewsbury are indebted to him for his support.
