TO "One very annoyed Dewsbury parent", (Reporter, April 4) from someone who at least doesn't mind if my name is in the papers and say what I feel or think.
There have been many who have agreed with me that to some people with a lower mentality, the programme is just another thing for a person to say to a child, "Shall we play Hider In The House?".
In this day and age we know that our children are not s
afe to play outside.
It only takes a minute for someone to entice a child off our streets. The usual things they say are: "Do you want to see my puppies or kittens?". This programme is just giving stupid ideas to people.
I also remember when I was a schoolgirl I wanted to run away to live with my granny but I went to school for the full day, like Shannon did, before setting off on my own little journey, because I was upset, but oh boy, was I glad to get picked up in the early hours.
As in the case of Fred and Rose West, they made friends with all those children and the children thought they could trust Fred and Rose.
I do know Hider In The House is a game show but there are perverts and paedophiles who may just put this into another way to get to our children and do what they like with our kids.
It's just hard to know where to draw the line because it isn't safe to let our children go on computers without these predators talking to our kids.
To those parents who don't mind someone trying this new line on their children, that's their prerogative, but I care too much for my grandchildren growing up in a world that's evil.
