Heckmondwike failed in their bid to capture the Central Yorkshire League Knock-Out Trophy after losing to Ossett by 53 runs at Liversedge in 1984.
Ossett won the toss and elected to bat. Heckmondwike got off to a confident start but Ossett’s runs soon started to flow.
Heckmondwike looked to be in a strong position as Ossett momentarily floundered.
But they fell behind the required run rate and a marvellous performance from Ossett’s bowlers was the final nail in the club’s coffin.
Ossett were then to set their sights on the Heavy Woollen Cup final against Gomersal and Birstall.
The trophy and awards were presented by Phil Ackroyd from Yorkshire CCC.
