A MILLION pound business park set to bring 200 jobs to Mirfield will open next week.
The former Hopton Mills, now known as Wheatley Park, has been renovated by developer St James Securities, which has spent a seven figure sum on the park.

It will be officially opened on Wednesday when the firm will unveil the first completed building, the Watermill, and setting out plans for the rest of the complex.

Development surveyor Oliver Quarmby said: "This will be a great opportunity to show the West Yorkshire business community what we have achieved – and what we are hoping to achieve – at this wonderful site. It is a hidden gem.

"Wheatley Park lies in a beautiful wooded valley and is an oasis of calm, only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the Calder Valley and M62 corridor. It is a unique environment for a modern business park.

"We have secured planning permission for the conversion of a further two buildings to offices and they will be built out on a sequential basis. Ultimately we hope to create a thriving, highly-regarded business environment at Wheatley Park."

Three companies have already taken space in the building. Camira Fabrics has taken 13,000 sq ft; Normal TM, an interior architecture company, has taken 550 sq ft; and marketing consultant Purebrand Creative Communications has taken 1,200 sq ft.
