CREEPY crawlies have reached monstrous sizes at a Mirfield school – at least, through pupils' new magnifying glasses.
The pupils, from Battyeford Primary School, were given the instruments by Specsavers to help them discover and identify the range of mini bugs and beasts that live in foliage around the Nab Lane school.

Headteacher Diane Pyatt said: "We are promoting active play and social skills and we have lots of new equipment to make playtimes more exciting for the children.

"Magnifying glasses was an idea to help with careful observations during science topics and caring, sharing playtimes."

She thanked Specsavers for supplying the glasses for free.
