POLICE were called to two traffic collisions within hours of each other on the same road.
A motorbike and a black Renault Megane were in collision near the Jet petrol garage on the junction of Leeds Road and Chidswell Lane at 6pm last Friday.

The driver of the motorbike was slightly injured but did not require hospital treatment.

Just more than two hours later, police attended a second collision between a red Audio A4 and a black Peugeot 106 on Chidswell Lane.

Two people were taken to Dewsbury District Hospital with slight injuries and one man was arrested for being over the alcohol limit.

A witness, who was driving along Leeds Road minutes after each incident, said: "My first thought was that the motorcyclist must have died because the bike was a wreck and it looked like it had gone under the car."
