A man was rescued from a canal in Mirfield in the early hours of the morning.
Emergency services were called out to the Calder and Hebble Navigation near Newgate at 5.30am today after receiving an anonymous call.

Daniel Innman, crew manager at Mirfield Fire Station, said: "When we arrived he was cold but he wasn't in that much distress. We hoisted him out with life jackets, poles and lines that we carry."

Three firefighters from Mirfield and a crew from Dewsbury were at the scene for around 30 minutes along with police and paramedics.

A spokeswoman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said the man's injuries were not serious but he was taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital.
