A MIRFIELD charity has been given a colourful boost thanks to a generous mums' committee.
The mums, from the Huddersfield Grammar School Ball Committee, presented children who live at the Hollybank Trust, Far Common Road, with soft furnishings for their bedrooms.

The money was donated after committee member Beverley Clayton visited the trust and noticed recently decorated rooms were in need of curtains, screens and cushions. Fabric Warehouse gave the committee 150m of material for almost half price, and SKA Fabrics fireproofed material free of charge. The children got to choose their own material and were given a CD or DVD each with leftover money.

Beverley said: "We were delighted we could use our contacts and skills to make a difference to the children's bedrooms. We really enjoyed fundraising for the trust and seeing it all come together now is just wonderful!"

Hollybank's head of residential services Jo Carter gave her thanks to the committee for their hard work.
