PUPILS designed and printed their own advertisements for a Mirfield 2012 Olympic countdown event.
The kids – from Crowlees School – designed a poster to advertise the event, which will take place on July 25.

It will mark the start of a countdown to the London Olympics in 2012, and families can take part in Olympic sports including cycling, archery, fencing, tennis, boxing and athletics.

The pupils took their poster to the West Yorkshire Print Workshop, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, where they had a go at screenprinting the image – a technique made famous by 1960s pop artist Andy Warhol.

The event takes place between 1pm and 4pm on Mirfield Showground and includes entertainment and refreshments. The Olympic countdown clock will be started live by a mystery local celebrity.
