A SURVEY to find out who uses a busy Mirfield car park has been commissioned.
Mirfield area committee members agreed on Monday to pay £4,200 for the survey after reports the free Station Road car park at the Co-op and library was filling up quickly on a morning and staying full through the day.
Committee chairwoman Coun Vivien Lees-Hamilton said people believed commuters were parking there before catching trains to other towns and cities, leaving nowhere for Mirfield shoppers to park.
She said the study, a joint venture between the area committee and Mirfield Town Council, would show how the car park was being used which would determine what action was taken.
