A MIRFIELD man has been unveiled as the future owner of Huddersfield Town football club.
Dean Hoyle, 40, was revealed as the club's new owner last Thursday, and while he will wait for a year to take over from Ken Davy as chairman, he already has exciting plans for the club he has supported since he was a child.

To celebrate the Terrie
rs' centenary next season, a day into his new role Mr Hoyle promised fans would be rewarded for their loyalty by a "mindblowing" announcement on season ticket prices.

Mr Hoyle has been a Town fan since 1979, when he caught the bus from his Heckmondwike home to the old Leeds Road ground.

He is a season ticket holder on the Kilner Bank, but his new status has now elevated him into the directors' box.

Mr Hoyle, who attended Heckmondwike Secondary Modern School at White Lee, is the owner of Card Factory, which has stores nationwide.

In one of his first interviews, on a local radio station, he joked that it had taken him 10 years to build up his fortune – and 10 hours to spend it, after buying into the club.

The announcement on season ticket prices came a minute after midnight on Saturday – the anniversary of one of football's most historic achievements.

On April 12, 1926, Town became the first club in history to become league champions three times in a row – a feat emulated since only by Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

And on April 12, 2008, the club thanked fans for a century of support by offering early bird tickets for as little as £100. Fans watching from the Kilner Bank and the Fantastic Media (Panasonic) will pay £100 if they buy before May 23, while those on the Riverside (lower) stand will pay £125, and those in the upper tier, £175.

After May 23, the prices will vary between £295 and £395. Mr Hoyle, whose aim is to bring passion back to the club after several disappointing seasons, could not have wished for a better first game at the Galpharm as the club's owner – the Terriers beating their arch rivals Leeds Utd 1-0 in a thrilling derby.
