CAR parking charges could be introduced in Mirfield to help make up a £2.5m council shortfall.
Kirklees highways chiefs have put forward a council report, seen by the Reporter, outlining proposed parking charges in Mirfield and Ravensthorpe.

It also lists possible charges in Dewsbury, Batley, Cleckheaton, Heckmondwike and Birstall.

The report suggests charging 20p per hour, 50p for three hours and £2 for a full day, Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm, to make up highways' £2.5m shortfall over the next three years.
