TWO teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a racially aggravated assault outside a high school.
Police were called at 4.10pm last Thursday to Castle Hall School in Richard Thorpe Avenue.

They said a 16-year-old Castle Hall pupil, who is Asian, was approached by a gang of white males who assaulted him. The victim was left bruised and had his thumb broken.

A 19-year-old and a 16-year-old were later arrested.

Insp Jenny Thompson said police were putting on extra patrols during school times.

Castle Hall headteacher Andy Pugh said the attack happened outside the school grounds and that those arrested were not connected with the school.

Police can be contacted on 0845 6060606.
