THE Mirfield Reporter has entered the world of social networking with its own facebook page.
Members use facebook to share photographs and catch up with long-lost friends –- and the site can be used to share news between members.
Reporter Lauren Chadwick said: "I already use facebook myself to keep in touch with friends so I thought it wo
uld be a great way of bringing news to internet-savvy Mirfield people.
"I use the group to send out news bulletins to members – meaning they are the first to get breaking news – and they can also contact me with stories, feature ideas, and suggestions on how we can make the Mirfield Reporter and our website better.
"I also thought it would be a great way to connect with younger people and hopefully garner some ideas to get younger readers interested in the Mirfield Reporter.
"I'd welcome readers' thoughts about the group and I'd especially love to hear from teenagers about what stories they would like to see in our paper and on the website."
