NATURE nut David Bellamy could be making a surprise visit to Mirfield if schools join a tree-planting campaign.
The green-fingered guru is heading the campaign to plant 50,000 trees throughout the UK.
The trees will be provided by printing.com, whose Mirfield store Mix Marketing is urging parents and pupils to put their schools forward for free trees.
One tree will be planted for every eight nominations.
Mix marketing manager Alexis Bradbury said: "We want to encourage local schools to make the most of their grounds by planting trees. This helps create woodland habitat, increases biodiversity and, most importantly, provides an excellent learning resource – planting trees, watching them grow, seeing how wildlife is encouraged and charting the changing seasons and weather."
