A WOMAN and young child had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Mirfield.
Firefighters were called just before 6.30pm on Monday after a bedroom caught fire at the house, on Southway. Crews from Mirfield and Dewsbury were sent to the scene and quickly doused the flames.

The woman and child were given oxygen therapy at the scene after breathing in smoke.

Paramedics then took over, but neither needed hospital treatment.
