Police have issued a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with a crime in Heckmondwike.

The Batley and Spen NPT would like to speak to anyone who can identify the man pictured in connection with the theft of a bank card from a woman in a supermarket on April 10.

The theft took place after a thief picked up the purse of a 74-year-old woman, which is believed to have been left on a till.

The card was then used to withdraw cash and purchase items in Heckmondwike, Dewsbury and Leeds before it was cancelled.

PC Chris Birkenshaw of the Batley and Spen NPT, said: “We are investigating this offence and are appealing for information to trace the man pictured who we want to speak to in connection with the theft of the victim’s card.

“Anyone who recognises him or can help identify him should contact myself at the Batley and Spen NPT on 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
