ELEGANT abstract art is now on show at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop.
Uncluttered, a new exhibition by award-winning artist Emma Lawrenson, opened at the gallery in Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, last week.
Emma’s work uses the shapes of organic objects such as leaves and seeds, and takes inspiration from the things she sees around her.
She said: “The best starting point for a piece of work is something observed by chance.
“I love catching the essence of things as they appear momentarily.”
Emma prepares her work at her home studio near Holmfirth and makes most of her prints at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop.
Previously she has had exhibitions in London, Halifax and Hebden Bridge.
She studied printmaking at the Royal College of Art in the late 1990s.
The exhibition in Mirfield runs until November 12. The gallery is open 10.30am-5pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 10.30am-4pm on Sundays.
