WATER supplies have been restored to Lower Hopton homes after emergency repairs to a burst pipe.
Families in the area reported low water pressure or no water this morning (Wednesday).
Andy Parkin, who lives in Wheatley Park, said his home lost its supply at around 7.45am.
“This morning I left the house to find a very large water leak flowing from a pipe that had burst in a field next to the roadside,” he said.
“Literally thousands of gallons have been lost.”
A Yorkshire Water spokesman said supplies to the area had been restored.
He said: “We’d like to apologise to customers for any water disruption as a result of a burst on one of our pipes.
“Thanks to their quick thinking in alerting us, we were able to rapidly get a team out to restore any disrupted water supplies, and carry out a full repair without the need for any traffic restrictions or road closures.”
