Here is a selection of snaps from across North Kirklees from over the past 50 years or more.
The photos include a bird’s eye view of Batley taken in the 1930s which was submitted by Austin Calvert, former Batley trams bearing the name of Preston Jenkinson Limited, and Birstall’s Maureen Conboy with her dog Teddy.
They also show people soaking up the sun in Heckmondwike’s Green Park in 1991 and the 1984 Late September Carnival featuring the Dewsbury Rose Majorettes.
