Parishioners at St John’s Church in Cleckheaton now have a church to be proud of, and some well-known local faces came down to see what all the fuss was about.
MP Mike Wood, along with Lord and Lady Shaw and Coun Andrew Pinnock, attended a service at the church which recently had a £300,000 refurbishment completed.
The vicar of Cleckheaton, the Rev Brunel James said: “The church has gone through a big transformation, and the congregation and I are very happy with the work so far.”
The visits were to help launch an appeal for funding for a new disabled-access entrance.
The church will also be having a special Gift Day service at noon on Sunday March 17.
