A TEENAGER from Dewsbury has been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred.
She is one of five people who police have taken action against following online comments made earlier this year.
The Reporter understands the comments were made in response to alleged online posts about the media attention given to the deaths of six British soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan in March.
Azhar Ahmed, 19, of Fir Avenue, Ravensthorpe, was arrested over those initial remarks. He is due to stand trial at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday on a charge of sending a grossly offensive message via social networking website Facebook.
This week, police confirmed that a 19-year-old woman had been arrested released on bail.
A 63-year-old woman from Liversedge, a 19-year-old man from Dewsbury and a 23-year-old man from Bradford were given adult cautions, and a 14-year-old boy from Pontefract was given a juvenile caution.
