Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a car stolen in Staincliffe.

Two men, both aged 23, have been arrested on suspicion of steeling the blue Ford Fiesta, but police have so far been able to trace it.

The car, registration number YG55TDP, was stolen from outside a premises in Halifax Road just before midnight on Saturday, June 27.

PC Chris Birkenshaw, of Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We would urge members of the public to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicle. It is possible that it may now be on false plates.

“If anyone has any knowledge of the location of the Fiesta or who was involved in the theft of it, they are please asked to call the Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team via 101.”
