Police are looking for information after a man snatched a handbag from a woman.

Two women were walking in Wyke Recreation Ground on Sunday March 1, between 1.20am-1.40am, when a man grabbed one their bags from behind, snapping the strap.

Neither of the women was hurt but one needed medical assistance for breathing difficulties after she gave chase.

The bag contained a number of personal items and a Sony Xperia mobile phone.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, about 6ft tall and of slim build.

He was clean shaven, had dark hair and wore a dark hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Det Insp Alan Flynn, of Bradford District CID, said: “This man may be local and it is possible he may have followed the women into the park.

“I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Town Gate area at around this time, or who thinks they may recognise the man from his description, to contact DC 1926 McFarlane at Bradford District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
