A 22-year-old man who was flung from a car during a five vehicle smash remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The man was seriously hurt in the incident, which happened in Oxford Road near the junction with Moor Lane, Gomersal, at around 2.10pm last Thursday.

He was the driver of a silver Mini Roadster convertible.

The other vehicles involved were a grey Vauxhall Zafira, a blue Vauxhall Astra, a white Volkswagen van and a white Renault Kangoo van.

Police say the Mini was reported stolen from an address in Elland on October 3.

The 22-year-old, who has not been named, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

Another man in the Mini is also believed to have run off after the crash.

Sergeant Richard Lyon said: “We are keen to speak with anyone who has witnessed this collision of who has seen someone walking or running from the scene or acting suspiciously in the area.

“Anyone with information is asked to call the Western Safer Road and Neighbourhood Support Team on 101.”
