tireless efforts by imams and madressah teachers at the Madani Mosque, Dewsbury Moor, were rewarded earlier this month.

The Kirklees Faith Network awarded trophies for work with local children, which were presented to madressah team members by Boothroyd Junior and Infant School headteacher Lesley Butcher.

Muslim children from Dewsbury Moor and Westtown have been attending the madressah school since 2007, during which time teachers have developed a syllabus offering a wide range of options.

A spokesman for Kirklees Faith Network said: “It was an immense pleasure to present these trophies to the madressah team.

“There are some dedicated imams and an outstanding group of teachers who work hard with limited resources to improve standards of education at this after-school madressah.”
