A PRIMARY school taught lessons with a continental twist when it held a French day.

Crowlees School in Springfield Park, Mirfield, organised the day for it’s pupils, who have French language lessons every week.

Activities included sessions with a French dance troupe, puppet shows, eating French food, studying French art and a France-themed treasure hunt.

Teacher Lisa Oakley said: “It’s interesting for the children and for them to learn about the lives of people in different countries.

“We do the French lessons once a week, but it’s nice for them to know the background.”

The school has been running French classes for three years.
