Further arrests in Dewsbury street trouble

A further five arrests have been made by police following large-scale group trouble in Dewsbury involving men brandishing weapons.

Three men were brought in for questioning following the trouble on Pilgrim Crescent on Sunday evening at around 10pm, two aged 30 and another aged 33.

Since a police appeal was launched, more were taken into custody, aged between 20 and 36.

All have now been bailed.

Detective Inspector Mark Walker, of Kirklees CID, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the disorder which took place on Pilgrim Crescent in Dewsbury last night. 

“We are working closely with the community and our partners and there will be increased Neighbourhood Policing Patrols in the area to reassure local residents. 

“I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the disorder last night or has any further information to come forward and contact the police to assist with our investigation.”
