GRAFFITI art techniques were the order of the day for a group of school pupils.

Artist Mike Barrett taught the young people how to draw in the graffiti style at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop during half term.

Workshop development officer Mark Milnes said: “We have been running activities during school holidays for two to three years with funding from Kirklees Council and this was part of that.

“We have done Manga and graphic design workshops that were very popular and this was an extension of that.

“The young people did graphic lettering using materials other than spray cans to create their images. Spray paint is not really suitable to use in a gallery environment.

“It ended up with a spray finish but they have been using brushes and stippling effects.”
