A SCHOOL’S annual charity appeal got off to a flying start when families donated more than 400 raffle prizes.
Battyeford Primary School raised £5,500 for Marie Curie Cancer Care with a series of family events, raffles and tombolas last year.
On Friday, its 2011 appeal began with a non-uniform day and prize appeal.
Teacher Michelle Williams said: “Every single child came in non-uniform and brought in a prize. The families have been really generous.”
Businesses who would like to donate larger prizes should phone 01924 326530.
