West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service will be giving a talk about their scams and fraud education (SAFER) project for Birstall residents.
Rebecca Finch from the service will be helping residents to increase awareness of the many types of scams and possible scenarios they may face on their doorstep.
Graham Hebblethwaite, West Yorkshire’s chief Trading Standards officer, said: “The SAFER project will enable residents to feel confident in their communities and help protect themselves against itinerant traders and becoming the victim of scams.
“It will also tackle the issues of fuel poverty and increase the health and wellbeing of older people.”
The talk will take place at Birstall Library and Information Centre, Market Street, from 10.30am on Tuesday, June 30.
The event is free and everyone is welcome. There will be a small charge for refreshments.
