The club announced today that the enforced charge of £5, introduced on adult South Stand tickets last term, was being lifted for the 2016-17 campaign.

United courted controversy before Christmas by adding the supplement in return for a voucher which fans could exchange for refreshments inside the stadium.

The extra cost remained in place until the end of last season but Leeds have removed it and frozen general prices for the new term.

A statement from the club read: “Following the introduction of great value meal deals throughout the stadium, adult match tickets in the South Stand will no longer be sold as part of a meal deal package.”

Leeds have also confirmed that all league fixtures will be classified as Category A or B after selecting only three Category C games during the 2015-16 term.

The club said it planned to introduce separate ticket promotions and discount schemes instead and they have followed a trend set with their season-ticket costs by introducing Under-11s prices in all areas of the ground.

Under-11s in the Kop will now pay just £8 for category A matches and £7 for category B.
