Delays expected due to essential Savile Town gas works

DRIVERS will face delays as essential gas works are carried out in Savile Town.
The work was due to start at the junction of Savile Road and Mill Street yesterday.
It will take at least two weeks to complete and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
Temporary traffic lights have replaced the four-way lights where Savile Road meets Mill Street East and Mill Street West.
Dennis Langham from Northern Gas Networks said: ““We would like to apologise for an inconvenience this work may cause local traders, residents and road users but it is essential to ensuring the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to the area.
“We will work extended hours wherever possible to ensure that we get this work completed as quickly and safely as possible but there can be no short-cuts when it comes to gas safety and it is vital that we complete this work to the highest standard.”
