The mystery of what happened to their grandmother’s cash was one that had left the Jarvis family puzzled.

And even when Andrea Jarvis cleared out her late grandma’s bungalow in Staincliffe, they were still none the wiser.

The family suspected she had been conned out of the money until Dewsbury estate agent Oliver Whitehouse noticed a bump in the floor of the master bedroom.

He peeled back the lino to discover a small fortune stuffed into a money belt.

Mr Whitehouse, who works for Whitegates, said: “My eyes popped out of my head. I couldn’t believe it.”
