Friends get on their bikes from Poland to Mirfield for charity

Six John Cotton employees and friends were cheered over the finish line after completing an epic 761 mile charity bike ride from Poland to Mirfield.

Alan Bodell, Dave McDanielson, David Page, Daniel Hickling, Tim Nellis and Eyta Paxton raised £9,888, bringing the Mirfield company’s centenary year fund raising total to £120,000

Friends and family joined Welcome to Yorkshire’s Sir Gary Verity, Tour de France veteran Brian Robinson, the Cotton family, Sam Wood and Tom Symonds from the Huddersfield Giants and charity representatives to welcome the cyclists home.

John Cotton MBE was joined by wife Barbara, son Mark and daughter Annabel to congratulate the team.

Mr Cotton said: “I want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone that has been involved in our centenary year and helping us to raise such an incredible amount of money for our chosen charities.

“It has been a pleasure working with them and we hope this money will help continue the wonderful work they do.”
