Inquest of Mirfield stab victim Joshua Hirst opens

THE inquest into the death of a stab victim has opened.

Joshua Hirst, 20, was found fatally stabbed in Hepworth Lane, Mirfield, on Friday August 3.

His inquest was opened at Bradford Coroner’s Court yesterday when his body was also released for his funeral.

Jo Church, Arron Smith and Nadeem Rashid, 21, of Lapwing View, Horbury are charged with murder. Church, 21, of Redlands Close, Mirfield, and Smith, 18, of Saville Street, Emley, are also accused of possessing a knife.

They will stand trial next year with Kirstie Rainford, 22, of Springbank Drive, Liversedge, who is accused of assisting an offender.
