Knockout deal to sponsor fighter

A Birstall media agency is backing an MMA star ahead of the biggest fight of his career.

Fantastic Media is supporting Batley fighter Danny Mitchell as he prepares to take on CJ Meeks in front of the camera at London’s 02 Arena.

The 29-year-old, nicknamed the Cheesecake Assassin, trains locally at Asylum Vale Tudo in Birstall, and also runs a business mentoring more than 50 other local fighters.

Fantastic Media has now confirmed a sponsorship deal with Mitchell and the firm is hoping to raise the fighter’s profile in the community.

“It’s great to have a company like Fantastic Media involved. They work with some of the best businesses about and this is a great way to raise a bit of awareness about me and the work I do with young fighters,” he said.

The agency’s managing director Andy Hobson is delighted to support Mitchell.

“This is not about financial support from Fantastic, although that is part of it. It’s more about helping a young local lad and getting behind him and the work he does.

“Danny is committed, focused and knows what he wants and, that’s the type of outlook and attitude that fits with us here at Fantastic.

“We’ve been involved in top level sports like Premier League football and Super League, but more recently we’ve looked at ways we can help the grassroots side and make a difference to the community, like our recent sponsorship of AFC Emley.”
