Barclays have announced that their Mirfield branch is to close.
The bank, in Huddersfield Road, will shut at the end of May, with the nearest branches being in Dewsbury and Huddersfield.
A Barclays spokeswoman said: “This decision has not been taken lightly and we appreciate that it may inconvenience some customers. The branch has seen declining numbers in recent years meaning it isn’t sustainable to keep it open. By merging with the branch in the market place in Dewsbury we can provide a full service for our customers.
“There will be no job losses and the majority of staff will transfer to Dewsbury so that customers can have a familiar face serving them.
“Customers can also use Post Offices for paying in and withdrawing money and we will work hard to minimise the impact on customers and staff at both branches.”
