The entertainment lineup for the twentieth edition of the award-winning Mirfield show has been announced.
The show, which takes place on Sunday August 17 at Mirfield Showground, is entitled ‘Celebrating Yorkshire, Mirfield Style.’
Two headline acts will feature, beginning with Yorkshire based family Stannage International Stunt Team. The team, which comprises family of three Mark, Janine and their son Aaron, specialise in spectacular car, motorbike and high fall stunts.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Band, who are based in Birkenshaw and are made up of over thirty musicians from a variety of backgrounds, will also perform at the event.
The event will be free for all children under 16, with adult advance tickets available to purchase from £3.50. £5 tickets can be bought at the gate on the day.
Other highlights will include a horse and pony show, a flower and vegetable show and popular family favourites Build-A-Scarecrow and Tug of War.
The chair of the organising committe, Karen Bullivant, said: “As times continue to be financially difficult for many people, we wanted a low-cost entertainment-packed day out for all the family.
“The whole family can watch the amazing main arena entertainment for free, enter most of the classes and competitions for free - plus they can bring their own food and enjoy it in our picnic area.
“Year on year costs continue to rise, with a bill this year of probably over £30,000 - but we determined to continue what was set down back in 1995 to put on a show with attractions that the public are unlikely to have seen locally before.”
Advance tickets can be bought now from www.mirfieldshow.co.uk, Ramsden’s Butchers, the Melting House Chocolate Shop, Beadelicious and Perfections along Old Bank Road.
