Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched in the face in Batley.

The assault took place outside the Shell petrol station on Bradford Road, Batley between 2pm-3pm on Thursday April 24.

The 26-year-old victim was walking past the filling station before becoming embroiled in a verbal exchange with the suspect, who was sat in a car.

It has been alleged that the suspect approached the victim and punched him twice to the face, knocking him to the floor before leaving the scene.

A 30-year-old man has been interviewed by officers in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
