Music students from Kirklees College will have people rocking around the Christmas tree with a new three track EP out this month.
Woof Trade VOL 1 - the first in a series of compilations showcasing the talents of music technology students - can be downloaded now via iTunes featuring three tracks written and performed by Kirklees College music students and produced by music technology students.
The EP includes wistful acoustic track All The Little Things by up and coming singer songwriter Tara Wolfe; Hurricanes by The Final Throes – a five piece slinky funk band with a rock vibe; and short and sweet nostalgic pop Girl It’s You by three piece group The Shade.
Music tutor Graham Lees said: “We hope this first release will allow our learners to get their songs out into the world and heard by the listening public. It’s a genuinely exciting process for the students to be involved in and gives them a real world insight into many aspects of the music industry.”
The release of EP coincides with the college’s annual Xmastock event which was held on Wednesday in Huddersfield and included performances by Tara and the Wolves, Murky Water and The Final Throes.
The bands’ line-ups are: Murky Water – Connor Scotford, of Brighouse, Lewis Winslade of Liversedge, Joe Laycock and Andrew Wilkinson of Huddersfield; Tara and the Wolves – Rob Adams and Liam Finch of Huddersfield, Tara Wolfe of Halifax and Oliver Wilson and Ben Palmer of Cleckheaton; The Shade – Ben Palmer and Oliver Wilson of Cleckheaton and Liam Finch of Huddersfield; The Final Throes – Sam Rawling of Cleckheaton,
