Police are on the hunt for burglars after a large amount of jewellery was stolen from a house in Mirfield.

The theft happened in Sunnybank Road during the afternoon of Monday July 28 after the kitchen window at the rear of the house was broken in order to gain access.

Police Constable Chris Eglen from Huddersfield District Police, said: “A large number of jewellery items were taken in the burglary which had a significant value both in monetary and sentimental terms.

“Electrical goods, including a Canon camera and iPad Mini were also taken, and I would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered these items for sale in the last week.

“I would also encourage anyone who may have witnessed something at the time but not realised the significance of what they saw. This incident took place in broad daylight and I would like to hear from anyone witnessing any suspicious behaviour in the area around the burglary.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Eglen at Huddersfield Police Station on 101.
