Video: Emotional plea for missing Dewsbury girl

Waiting for Video...

An emotional appeal has been made to get a missing teenager home for Christmas.

15-year-old Levi Margison, who was reported missing from Rochdale on December 11, is originally from Dewsbury.

Police have been probing CCTV footage of Dewsbury town centre and have been conducting house to house enquiries in the area.

Levi’s mum Lynne said: “We just want Levi home for Christmas. Her sister is missing her so much and is not sleeping from worrying about her.

“There are presents waiting under the tree and I would urge her to please come back home.”

DI Andy Leonard of Kirklees CID said the girl had gone missing in the past but has always returned home within two or three days.

He added: “She is bound to be well known to her peers and around the bus station and local shops and cafes.”

Levi has also spent a lot of time around the Crow Nest Park area.

She was last seen in Hillhouse, Huddersfield, at about 9am on December 11. Levi is white, around five foot four inches tall, slim, with a pale complexion, green eyes and long, wavy, past shoulder-length, ginger hair.

She was last seen wearing an orange hooded top, blue skinny jeans, a grey zip-up top with hood and lilac and white Nike high top trainers – however it is understood that she left with a suitcase of clothes.

DI Leonard said: “It is now 10 days since Levi was last seen in Huddersfield and all we and her family want is to know she’s safe and to get her home for Christmas.

“It is a terrible time for any family to experience an ordeal such as this and I know Levi is being missed greatly, particularly by her sister and I would appeal again to anyone who has information about her whereabouts or to Levi herself to get in touch.

“All efforts are being made to locate her and we will continue to do all we can to seek more information. I continue to urge anyone who has seen a girl matching Levi’s description or who has any information about her movements or current whereabouts to contact Kirklees CID on 101.”

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
