A LOCAL mum who set up her own business has been shortlisted in the Mumpreneur awards.

The awards celebrate parents in the UK who manage to juggle business with family life, and Sam Pearce has been recognised in the Best Start Up category because of her business, the Potting Shed Spa at Redbrick Mill.

The winner will be the mum who has created the biggest impact in the shortest space of time.

Sam said she hoped she had what it took to walk away with the prize, which will be handed out at the end of the month in Warwickshire.

She opened The Potting Shed just over a year ago and has already secured a host of awards, including Best British Salon with three rooms or less at the Professional Beauty Awards in March 2012.

She said: “I am delighted to have been recognised for my achievements in business so far, what an honour to be in such esteemed company – I am over the moon.”
